The Alpha Bike 12/11/2011

This was a mini project to get more exposure using a Hasselblad camera (amazing, if you have about $40,000 to spare). So a group of mechanical engineers designed a high end bike called "The Alpha Bike" (www.thealphabike.com). I got the opportunity to photograph it and design a poster for the bike seen here:

Sex Ad Campaign 12/11/2011

This project had lot of rules. The premise was: you have just been hired as creative director to create a sex ad campaign. You must create three separate shots that should all relate to each other, in addition, you MUST incorporate the three objects: rock, paper, and scissors.

This was an assignment to essentially create my own logo, brand, and style for an advertising campaign. I am selling accessories. But what the accessories are doesn't matter. It's selling you a feeling and mood with the photos, not the actual product. By purchasing these items, you're purchasing this attitude and quality. The slogan "Beauty is beauty" ties in with the grunge look of the location. The items are beautiful because I say they are, it doesn't matter where you find them, they are gorgeous. Beautiful to look at, and it's that stand-out beauty you want to buy.

Bodies in Water 12/02/2011

This was my first final project in a photography class. It initially began as sports photography of swimmers and developed into this collage inspired by Picasso and Braque. It was also the Photography winner of the Penn Fine Arts Showcase (Spring 2011). Below are individual shots compiled into a more structured collage.

Still-Life 11/29/2011

Picture
This was a project for Advanced Digital Photography. We were tasked with creating a still-life photography image. However, instead of arranging the objects and photographing them, each object needed to be shot individually and the overall image constructed in photoshop. I personally hate still-life painting and photography (save Irving Penn) and wasn't excited about the project. To make it fun I took some of the "Southern decorative" items from around the house I live in and tried to create the most generic still-life possible. Wicker balls, fake cardboard books, shadow boxes, and paintings of nothing summarize my feelings of still-life. It's just funny and ridiculous that people love decorating their homes with odd objects like this. I designed my still-life so it would appeal to the same type of people that would like these decorations--if they like my still-life then I'm happy to mock them.
